If it constantly does that and its still under warranty, the dealer will most like replace it. I took my coupe in and told them that it grinds the gear when i make a shift. They tested it and found out that it does and said that they are going to replace it. Simple as that.

I had my 05, give me issues, shifting in 5 and reverse. The dealer replaced it, and gave me a loaner for a few days.

I just found out I'm getting a 2nd new tranny again yesterday @ 50K. The first one grinded into 5th, the second one whined like a pig and would fight me getting into 1st gear.

The warranty is 6yrs/70K mi. Take it in, sounds like ur definitely getting a new tranny.

those that are grinding into gear, is it really obvious?
is it - clutch all the way in - shift into 5th - grinding noise - release clutch
or - clutch all the way in - shift into 5th - release clutch - grinding noise

Not always obvious at first, but it progressively gets worse. It happens as you move the shifter into 5th gear with the clutch all the way down. I sometimes even had trouble getting it in. (I'm talking about the shifter still, get you minds outta the gutter!)
