Having Problem On 03 6mt Tranny

hey guys i need help on my 03 6mt tranny problem. im having trouble with my car when im shifting into 3rd gear it sems to grind a little time to time. i took my car in about 1 1/2 ago(car was still under basic warranty) to get it check out by local infiniti dealer here in atl. im going to describe best as i can remember. i had the service manager in my car and showed him and duplicated the problem so, he said he was going to look in to it and would call me with an answer.he aware me that they might have to charge me 5 to 6 hundred dollar to drop the the tranny and it will go towards to tranny work if i need to get work done on my car. i told him it was fine. but he called me back later on that day and said the technician couldn't duplicate the problem so they didn't do anything to my car. i feel that i was blown off by them. it sems like it's getting worst as time has gone by(now my basic warranty is 5month over due). i heard that 03 tranny had many issues with them and the dealers have replaced many of them. i just want to know if any one else is having problem like mine and what action do i need to take to correct this matter. can you guys help me please.

Try replacing clutch line to stainless steel line. At the sime time clutch hydraulic system will be bled. It's a cheap fix-line +install will be within $100.
Replace tranny fluid with synthetic, I have Amsoil, forgot the grade though, but you can look it up in manual and Amsoil website.
If it won't work, then you can ask for thorough inspection and be ready to shell out some bucks.

I would just go ahead and get the new clutch put in. The labor to install a clutch on it would be the same as replacing the tranny again, because it all has to come out again. I did the "kill two birds thing" and did the clutch and flywheel combo from Stillen when I pulled my tranny. Best clutch I have had....good luck

how much did you paid for the combo? they didn't charge you any other labor for putting in your after market stuff?

that's the answer i didn't want to hear "you have to pay" LOL. some ppl got new tranny and clutch replaced. like this post.

If you are referring to my last post, the Service Manager said that the new trans are shipped with the clutch as part of the unit, but the throwout bearing is not. So basically for about $100-$200 I'm getting a complete new trans and clutch (but original flywheel from my understanding).

I had the exact same problem you have.. They replaced my tranny and they used the same clutch flywheel. They said they were not going to but when I started asking questions and called HQ they used the same clutch/flywheel parts.
