07 6MT - clutch failed and left me stranded
#16
Third times a charm?
Well, a few weeks ago the clutch started acting up again (loss of pressure, sticky ...) and this was after they bled the air from the system.
I brought it back in again and they kept it for 3.5 days and replaced the Slave cylinder.
Well, it's still not fixed. The clutch started to lose pressure again and gets "sticky" towards the bottom of the pedal travel.
I'll have to call again tomorrow and see what I can arrange.
This will be third time attempting to get the clutch fixed.
This is ridiculous! I'm starting to get really disappointed with the car. I've had the car for less than 6 months and don't yet have 5000 miles on it.
I've been left stranded and had to have it towed to the dealer at 3500 miles.
I've brought the car in twice for repairs to the clutch and it's still not fixed and now I have to bring it in a THIRD time? *sigh*

Clutch fixed ... will it STAY fixed?
The dealer had my 07 G35S 6MT for 3 days and replaced the Slave Cylinder and the car drives fine ... for now.
I'm pretty skeptical of the car overall. The last few "fixes" to the clutch lasted only a few hundred miles.
This has been the third repair for the same problem and should a fourth incident occur with the clutch, I'm probably going to change vehicles. I'd rather take the financial hit on getting rid of the car than have an unreliable car.
I've barely had the car 6 months, less than 5000 miles.
It's so ironic ... I didn't buy a BMW 335i because I wanted a more reliable car.
If I could do it again, I would have spent the extra ca$h for the Bimmer and
took a gamble with the BMW reliability. It couldn't have been much worse than what I've experienced with the G.
Too bad because I love the car ... when it works.
To my fellow owners of a 07 G35S 6MT, keep an eye on your clutch and if
it starts to stick at the bottom and you notice a significant loss of pressure, get it checked out.
