Stock LSD, Do I change?

My Auto G35, came with teh Performance Wheel and Tire package (18" Wheels and LSD), what ratio am I running? I have seen NISMO VLSD and other vendor 3.91 rear gears. Trying to see if it worth the change.
I plan to add a ATI SC, Borla Headers & Exhaust with RT Cats, also upgrade the TC stall and Value body to improve launch.
As a newbie to Nissan and advice is appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Stock LSD, Do I change?

It really all depends on what you plan on doing with you car. Are you going to track, road race, auto-x, etc. the car? If so then perhaps an upgrade to a clutch type LSD like Kaaz or Nismo might be worth it depending on how heavily you push the car. As you know the stock LSD is only a viscous type and reacts slower then a clutch or torsen type LSD. The clutch type LSDs are more performance oriented and will react before slippage occurs. I believe a Kaaz or Nismo LSD will run you around $900 in parts alone and will cost another $300-400 for installation. So depending on what you are going to do with the car is that worth it in your case?

Re: Stock LSD, Do I change?

Thanks for the explaintion of the types of LSD. Good point about use of vehicle. It will be my daily driver, maybe occasional auto-x. So I am mostly looking to help with red light to red light take off.
I will be adding a ATI SC, Borla Headers and exhaust with RT cats, along with rebuilding Torque converter to up stall to around 2900 along with value body. So the rear end will be my last addition to help with take off torque.
