overdrive manual

hey, everyone
I have an 04 AT coupe. I usually use the D to drive, but sometimes i would switch to the manual overdrive for the fun of it. What i notice in the manual over drive is that every time i shift to 2nd, the car doesn't shift smoothly (sorry i am not a good explainer, but it does look like stall.) However, sometimes i get into the second gear pretty smooth. I don't know if it have to do with my driving or is it the problem with the transmission?
I just wonder anybody experience this. I am still new to this car, and still learning about it.
sorry, if this is a newb question. Hope u guys don't flame me for this. But i am welcome for any info.
thanks in advance.

here is one for you, my 5th gear in auto is 'longer' than it is in tiptronic. Meaning, my revs go down when i put it from tiptronic to D, by about 200rpms. and you can hear it and feel it too.

why you shifting so early? if you wanna have FUN with the manual mode, take that baby all the way up. otherwise leave it in D.

get a grounding kit, no more rough shifts ever again, sxexcx can get you a hold of a kit

Since you mention grounding kits, GroundingGear from Gordgee here on the forum is a great grounding wire kit as well. I just put one on my 5AT and the shifts are incredibly smooth in both auto and tiptronic modes. My idle speed dropped by about 150 as well. Still doing several gas tanks full to see if I gained a mile or 2 per gallon in gas mileage.

Yeah I have problems when shifting from 3rd to 2nd (downshifting) when I'm at low rpms.. basically when I'm going slow. My car slightly jerks when I do it.. don't know why =/

when you switch to manual from auto while in 5th gear it automatically downshifts to 4th gear... That's probably what you are hearing and feeling.
