car won't move or accelerate

Not long ago my car was involved in an accident, since i have a relative who owns a body shop i was able to repair the car myself. The engine runs fine. The only problem is that when i put it in gear it immediately shuts off ,and i also have no throttle response. When the car is running and i depress the gas the engine will not accelerate.Does anyone have an idea as to what the problem might be.I would very much appreciate anyone's help, this has kinda got me worried.Incidentally there was no damage to the engine or transmission.I was thinking maybe it was some kind of sensor or maybe something is unplugged somewhere.

Thanks

Yo,

It sounds like the fly wheel or or something isn't engaging properly...that's unusual... take it to the dealer.

Re: car won't move or accelerate

my first try would be to try resetting the ECU.... unplug the car battery for 12 hours

second guess would be....something wrong with the drive-by-wire mechanism/sensors

good luck, let us know what you find out

Try checking the MAF sensor and make sure it is fully plugged in. I had the same issue you are having after the bodydshop got done and it was the MAF.

I had a similar problem when my intake fell off. check your MAF sensor. It might be unplugged or damaged. Or possibly a hole in the intake somewhere.

This is what happen when my MAF/intake fell off.
-check engine, slip, VDC lights came on
-error messages popped up on the navi, check engine, check vdc, fine local dealership.
-Car would not excelerate past 5mpg
-VDC kicked in.

Not an issue at all, good info is always worth repeating. This problem sure is an issue thought it sure pisses many of us off. The MAF is a little too delicate for my taste. Mine was simply not secure...thats it and thats all. WTF not secure!
