Sup everyone, I'm planning on upgrading to a better clutch and flywheel. I was leaning towards ACT clutch and flywheel just because thats what most people use but I found some good deals on XTD Stage 3 with 18lb flywheel, F1 stage 3 with 18lb flywheel, Clutch masters FX300 with 10lb flywheel, and JWT. I've heard pretty good stuff about JWT but anyone know about XTD and F1? Heard some bad stuff about Clutch masters....anyone have this clutch? They seem to be pretty affordable but thats all that I can see. Please input everyone. Thanks!

 

i have the exedy stage2 with lightweight flywheel... the revs are alot faster and its actually easier to drive than stock... and it grabs hella nice.

 

I would highly recommend hearing a lw flywheel in person on our cars before you decide to install.

 

why do you say that? What do I need to hear?

wow... well, i've got enough rasp from my strup headers, testpips, and x-pipe FI exhaust so I don't think it will sound that bad.... you do gain HP though right?

 

You have no idea... trust me just hear it first. I wish someone would have told me that before I paid $275 to have it removed.

You don't gain hp per se, just less drivetrain loss and you'll go faster through the rpm band. It's only really noticible in the lower gears. IMO I would stay stock on any car that oringinally has a dual-mass flywheel, ehich we do. Stock single mass flywheels can be replaced with lw ones and there's not much more noise.
