Is there a difference in noise from the "flywheel chatter" and the Throw out bearing?

Back when i had my 2000 Civic Si, i had a simialr noise (but not nearly as loud) and i was told it was my throw out bearing and if i replace my clutch that they would replace it and the noise would be gone. it did!!!

but now with the new Exedy clucth and the streetlite ACT flywheel the noise is bad... but when i ouah the clutch in the noise goes away completely??

is that consistant with the flywheel chatter or do i have a different issue.

thanks!

Sounds like the TOB is possible riding the retainer sleeve on the input. I am not positive on that but that is kinda wat my brothers cobra is doing so I hope this helps.

Good question. I was always under the impression for the first 3 months of owning a G35 6MT that my throw out bearing was bad- but its normal chatter. With a aftermarket setup, the chatter would definately be louder (in most cases).

I have a JWT Flywheel and Nismo Clutch setup and I was told prior to install that most of the aftermarket FLYWHEELS are way lighter and do not have a "mass dampener". The mass dampener keeps the flywheel from creating the "chatter". Mine sounds like a "cement mixer" at low rpms (anything below 2500 rpms). Remember aftermarket clutches are for performance not daily driving. I hope this helped...
