Ok fellas I've been reading on here about the Transgo shift kit for my 04 5AT coupe. This seems like a good upgrade to my otherwise stock G35. Would any of you happen to know if the Torque Converter is required as well? I've seen in older threads that some folks have them. Thoughts and Opinions are appreciated. Thanks!

 

TQ is NOT required.

 

the transgo kit is just a valve body upgrade... has nothing to do with the trq converter... you can get an after market trq converter, but its not needed for the VB upgrade.

 

Hahah you're that easy to confuse! Hahah! Yeah recently heard about the vb upgrade and i figure as i slowly get pulled into the darkside of the FI world i want to start with something small like making the shifting smoother on my slushbox. Then slowly get into everything else.

its not going to make your "shifting smoother"... in fact, it will be harsher in most cases... but crisper and faster.

+1 on firm, crisp shifts. I did a transgo shift kit on my late-model firebird. It was one of the best mods done to the car!

Not sure, I'm not a member of any...but I'm sure there are lots of clubs in the Atlanta metro area. The big event, NOPI, is now canceled but another event should be at the speedway in September.

 

where are you guys ordering your transgo kits from? i have one on my truck and love the quick, firm shifts
