i had bad 5th gear synchros and they when they gave me a diff tranny, they "recommended" that i replaced my clutch/flywheel because im gettin a new tranny. i said ok and they charged me $500! they said thats with parts and they were ONLY going to charge me 1hr labor since they had the tranny out already. i was kinda bull cuz i kno it doesnt take 1hr to put a cluth n flywheel in.. good luck with watever way you go though

Why would you claim a car is a lemon because of a slipping clutch? That, my friend is just idiotic! A clutch is a wear item, just like windshield wipers. Even some brand new clutches will only last days, its according to how the car is driven, and how many times the clutch is slipped, and so forth. Why not replace the clutch yourself? I bought a clutchmasters stage 2 clutch for $239 on ebay, and put it in myself. Infiniti recommends you replace the flywheel, it is a dual mass setup, but i just reused mine, with no problems. Its amazing how much $$ you can save for about 4 hours of your own labor.

OP bought a used G. While it is POSSIBLE the clutch was defective, it is more likely the original owner abused it or didn't know how to drive.
If you are having it repaired at the dealership you bought it from, I would think they may work something out with you (like split the cost) since it has only been a couple of weeks. Their techs and/or UCM should have detected the clutch was going bad BEFORE selling the car.

First, unbolt the exhaust center section. Remove the drive shaft from the rear end, the front of the drive shaft is a slip joint, so it just slides out. You have to remove the shifter linkage, and shifter. unbolt the starter, and pull it away. I think there is a total of like 12 bolts. Just pay attention, there are 4 that are on the front that are a little difficult to access. the top 3 on the top of the bell housing arent that bad with a few extensions, and possibly a wobble. Remove the slave cylinder. Either drain the transmission fluid, or put the drive shaft back on the output shaft of the tranny. Support the transmission with preferably a transmission jack. Remove the transmission crossmember, and pull the transmission out enough to clear the input shaft of the transmission, and drop it down to the floor. Remove the pressure plate, and clutch disk. You will want to replace the pilot bearing, and possibly replace the flywheel with a lightweight unit. the throwout bearing also needs to be replaced, which will require a press on these cars. Once you reattach the pressure plate, and disc. lift the transmission, and slide the input shaft into the clutch disk. It may take a little work to get the input shaft to slide in, but it will eventually go in. Install in reverse order. It took me about 4 hours from start, to finish. It is one of the easier clutch installs that i have ever done.

The easiest I ever did was my old 78' DUCATI 900 Darma, all of 15 minutes.
The easiest four wheeler was my old Ford F-100 with the straight 300 ci 6 cyl. It took about an Hr if you don't count the time to get the fly wheel machined.
