rogue engineering

fellas!!

have you tried out the Rogue engineering shortie shifter for the Z/G?? i was fortunate enough to get a test click or two on the model for the G , and am smitten with the thing!!

it keeps the wrist movement to less than one inch, and the throws are firm and straight forward. Reverse feels like its on another planet as well (good thing, IMO)....

im a get one this week, (maybe the sparco R speedshifter **** too), and am wondering if there's any places to get it less than the 239 that Rogue's website states....

anyone have any leads?? i d like to spend $$ with our sponsors, if possible, but am not sure where's the best deal...

Re: rogue engineering

I bought mine frome the RE site. Worth every penny!

I didn't buy the socket and it was a pain in the ***, but using a large bench mounted vice grip and a small 3lb hammer I got the thing apart. My biggest installation issue was that I lost one of the bushings on the RE shifter while putting the socket ON it. When you get the shifter there will be a little twistie tie thing going through the bolt hole. Keep that on there, it is there for a reason. In my excitement I took it off as soon as I opened the box which led to me losing one of the bushings in my garage for about 45 minutes....

Re: rogue engineering

Do you have any pics of it installed? I'm trying to decide between this one and the B+M.

The RE shifter looks exactly like stock. It is the same height and I have my stock **** on. You can't even tell its been changed, until you drive it.

Re: rogue engineering

hey kevin,

can you try and describe the difference with the RE shifter? I'm thinking about getting one myself. just want to know what your impressions of it are?

My main problem with our stock shifter:
- very notchy, hard to go from 1st -> 2nd
- vibrates alot

Re: rogue engineering

Aaron,

Honestly, about the only thing I noticed was a shorter throw, which made the car more fun to drive. I didn't think the stock was too notchy, but I only had about 4,000 miles on the car (mostly highway) when I installed the new shifter. I still shifts smooth, and I like it, I like it a lot!
