Clutch Question

okay so i got my 05 g35 2 days ago and like all new manual drivers i stalled alot (not anymore) but the first 2 days i did it quite a bit. and i notice when i have my foot on the clutch it makes a raddling sound, does that mean my clutch is bad? i dutn know much about clutches and im really worried that i messed up my clutch =[ bought it at 42k miles from a dealer. can it come messed up and i didnt know and bought it anyways?

oh and when i turn my car off i go out side and i hear a clicking sound is that normal? it goes away after a bit though but its bugging me.

depending on how you drove it, you can ruin a clutch in a day

however, if it's not slipping under acceleration then you're should be OK

either that or your throwout bearing is bad

+1 on throwout bearing. when it chatters/raddles if you push in the clutch does it go away? and once you let go it starts back up again?

clicking sound could be from your cats. not too sure on how it happens but ive seen a friends g35 make a metal to metal clicking noise after turning of his car.

a lot of 6mt people have the same chatter problem but what im wondering is when they get it fixed what do you tell the dealership? ive tried to get it replaced at my old dealership but since they couldnt replicate the chatter i never had it replaced.

Good Test at Bottom of This Link

My '05 G also has clutch slippage issues today @ 33k - dealer just called to say its the master cylinder going bad causing friction. Should be covered under warranty I would think (they're "checking" with Infiniti). Did some research & think this article & clutch test at bottom of page was the most helpful. Good luck with yours!

Mine makes that clicking sound too after I turn the car off. I've heard other cars do it too, so I'm not sure it's a bad thing. Anyone know what makes this sound?

What?? No, it's after the car is parked and turned off. Even when I push the clutch in before I turn the car off and park it in neutral, there is a slow ticking sound coming from underneath. It lasts about a minute or so depending on how much it was driven. Anyone else get this? - help out bc that's as best as I can explain it.

it's just the hot metal in your exhaust system cooling down rapidly that makes that ticking sound.

every car I've ever owned did that.

Are you saying that your clutch pedal gets shaky? or are you saying the shifter starts to shake?

Heres something else to add, just picked up an 05 6mt sedan, 37K, the shifter does shake a lil but i usually let the low end torque pull me out of it. My question is this, does anyone else notice the general force required to put in in gear, i dont think ive ever smooth shifted into 2nd or 5th. The gears are rarely if ever properly aligned. Now i dont grind them, but its just not smooth it requires direct driver input.... Thoughts ? ? ?

you'd know if it was

say you shift from 1st to second, and let the clutch all the way out, if you then hit the gas and the RPMs fly up but you're not going any faster, the clutch is slipping.

i'm sure if you search youtube for slipping clutch youd be able to find a video of it
