how long is the pwr train warranty again?
If you want to prolong the life of your tranny, its good to get an external cooler and change your fluid at least once a year.

External cooler sounds like a good idea, but is there a nice clean place to install one without having to hack into the trans lines too badly?

WoW... glad to see you were still covered. I'm just running out of warranty on the 7th so I've been thinking about the extended. Nice to see that was covered by the Powertrain though.

If you were in GA there is a shop that can rebuild it for about $300 and do a good job. www.speedywrench.com

Go on www.car-part.com and buy a used one.

Update: SUCKS but I am out of warranty. Aug of 08 was the limit. Soooo... I thought I was screwed so I let them do a diagnostic on the car to figure out why the car threw an SES light. I find out the car was running exceptionally lean and the MAF sensor was broke so it is needed to be replaced. Not enough fuel was being injected. So we'll see when I get it back if that is really the case. I find it hard to believe, but we'll see. I got a loaner now and enjoy my time with it. I'll update once I get the car back later today

So your car was originally sold in August of 2002? Possible but damn that sucks.

^ Yuuuuuuup. What are the odds right? I was so pissed when I heard. Well after geting a new MAF sensor and them charging a boat load... the car is still doing the SAME thing in 5th. So we're calling tomorrow and raising hell and getting done what needs to be done... transmission.

I highly doubt that cause I know for sure parts are gona cost more than that. Tranny fluid itself is around $10/qt and you gona need around 11 qts to fill it back up. Hard parts for this tranny are also pretty high(Ive already checked)

Well.... i seemed to have fixed the problem myself. I was fed up with it so I said screw it I'm putting the stock intake back on (had the fujita) and see what happens. Put it on and parked it. My dad wanted to see what I was talking about so we took it out for a spin. did not slip what-so-ever and everything seemed to be perfectly normal. I even go behind the wheel to show him and it would not do it. Seemed that the intake was letting too much air in and now enough fuel so it was causing the problem. I could be wrong, but for now the problem has been solved. I will keep everyone updated during the week to see if I experience the same problem. Thanks for all the help
