Shifter problem or transmission?
Guys anyone that can provide some feedback would be much appreciated. Although I will be going to the stealership (trying to avoid them) to find out what's wrong I don't want to get had and the white glove from them
Problem: Past week or two the shifter itself started to feel looser than normal. Now 3 days ago all of a sudden I can't "reach" 5th gear; I had to really throw it hard all the way to 6th; once I'm on sixth, if I can keep the shifter aligned then I don't have a problem getting it into 5th.
I've found limited threads about a bolt coming loose and/or bushings wearing out and having the same problem (but there's no follow up).
I can't say that I'm a mechanic and know all there is too know but if it was the synchros or the actually tranny wouldn't have I been having issues shifting, grinding, etc?
Thanks,
JD

I guess with all the issues the 03 6MT's had I should feel lucky it took this long?? I'm already at 128K miles.
