G37 pumpkin?

I don't suppose anyone would know if the G37 pumpkin would swap with a coupe? I'm guessing probably not, but those 3.692 FD gears would be nice for our cars.

Bump. I'm sure it will. People are installing 3.5, 3.7, 3.9 and 4.083 FD gears into their DE G35s/350z's without any problems. Keep your eyes on the classifieds and the FD threads for sources.

the question wasn't if the gears will work but if its a direct swap.

I'm interested in this too.

I think if it has a built in VSLD it may be a direct swap. Don't quote me on that though

Next time I see a 37 in a lot I'll try to take a peek under and grab some pics and see if they look similar.

Are the part numbers to the casing the same? Maybe if they are then that will give us our answer because if the outer casing is the same size then it should fit.

No idea on this one. There's a chance but the mount may be different.

where are you going to get a G37 pumpkin?... I dont think they are swaping for G35s

Its cheaper to buy the ring & pinion set and have it installed than to buy the entire thing new.

You cant on the AT's you need the whole pumpkin AFAIK. I was just wondering out of curiosity eventually they are going to be more and more going FI, and it will be mutually beneficial if they can be interchanged.

with an after market lsd you can... which will still probably be cheaper than buying a new G37 pumkin...

I dont know whether or not the entire pumpkin will fit - but I would think G37 owners wanting shorter FD will probably intall 3.5 ring & pinion which they can get relativley cheap as OEM (400-ish) - or 200-300 used.

In any case - right now the best (really only) option is get the gear set and lsd and install in existing pumpkin... And its worth it

Nope never found out, maybe if you call infiniti they can tell you if the part numbers match?
