Maybe the op is new to driving a manual but who knows..
Yup, I also had a civic and I found the G more effortless to drive than the civic. May I say the G is more fun to drive also.

The description you have listed sounds like one, because I had a stage 2 clutch before as well and it took me a while to get use to.
im gonna have to disagree on that. i drove a friends honda and a friends vw and both clutches felt very different..the honda was by far the easiest to execute smooth shifts with. the vw clutch had a nice engagement point and felt very positive. now the g35.....very choppy and a small engagement point. not to mention it feels much stiffer. getting back into my car after driving the honda felt weird...i thought something mustve been wrong with my car for all of 5 minutes until i got used to it again. i love my car but it definitely isnt an easy car to drive stick with

30 minutes a day, 5 days a week...you TOO could look like this if with this simple G35 clutch training program.

What year is your G? I have an 05 and I would rate my clutch pedal stiffness a 4. I've been in 2 different '04 Gs and they felt like a 7. I dont know if the clutch is different on the 04's or if it was just on the 2 that I tried

After owning many cars with performance clutchs the G35 stiffness seems just right for what it is. The engagement point is high though, and seems to not have much travel when engaging.

you're all crazy. The g35 clutch takes almost no effort.

I had an 88 FieroGT before my G and my left leg is still larger than my right from that clutch

03-04 clutches are harder than any german car out there. The only clutch that i have experienced that was stiffer was the 2004 cobra.

on the other hand 05-06 and 07 coupes clutches are light as feather. On the newer V36s the clutch is somewhere in between 03-04 and 05-06 when it comes to its stiffness.

Feather weight clutch...:driving :

Yeah my 06 coupe clutch is very easy to push in, doesn't engage like aftermarket clutch either so I'm losing power when starting out,

I just had my engine and cltutch replaced by infiniti. Before replacing my clutch pedal seemed difficult to push and was tiring. Probably a 4-5 on the scale and was somewhat unpleasant. Wasnt very smooth, When engine was replaced they said it was almost gone so made sense to replace then. I believe it was oem, could have been afternarket, but with everything now and tuned it honestly is like a 1. I got in the car and was wlike wtf. Thought something was wrong. Car is so smooth didnt realize my clutch was that bad.May be something worth looking into for all of you complaining of the hard clutch. Or maybe just bleeding it?? I dunno. hopefully that helps.

I have an 05 6MT and I HATE the clutch in these cars. Quite a bit of chatter, esp from rest in 1st. There is too much pedal travel (I shouldn't have to cheaply change this), and to me, the engagement point isn't always in the same spot, it varies slightly. I rate the stiffness about a 5-6 though personally. Even some Porsche clutches I have driven are less stiff. Civics are like a 1 or 2 and it SHOULD be that way.

The clutch in the Viper is even way nicer than the G, even though it IS more stiff, prolly an 8. Now when I had a 6 puck racing clutch in there, it was a 10!!

^^ I agree that the G clutch is WAAAAY stiffer and harsher to engage than a honda. I've owned several hondas, all of them 5mt's, and all are night and day easier and softer to engage.

Now that I have a light flywheel and comp clutch my G is even worse LOL. Even smaller engagement point, more chatter, and the engagement point moves all over the place. I do enjoy the challange though!!!
