Need your help...no power upshifting...??

Would appreciate any thoughts on what might be wrong...I have a 2004 G35 coupe with 52k miles, well taken care of...I was driving home tonight and it started out of nowhere...can't go more than 10 mph per gear...so basically it won't go faster than 50 mph in 5th gear. If I try to go faster the car sputters like it's running out of gas. This went on for the 10 mile drive home. What gives?

thanks for responding...looks like I'm not the only one complaining about possible transmission problems on this site. the next day I drove her around the block & it was fine.

If the motor is limiting your operational rpms (usually 2500rpms), then your MAF sensor is failing. The ECU will go into safe mode (2500rpm limiter) if it senses a problem with the MAF. Do you have an intake?

Wont a disconnected vacuum hose cause similar symptoms? Assuming its the right (or rather wrong) hose.

Almost all those conditions SHOULD cause a CEL to come on. Sounds like limp home mode.

Could be the throttle body too. However usually you get a service engine soon light regardless of the issue.

car stuttering

So this week my car will start stuttering after about 2500 rpms and the service engine light will start flashing if I get above 3000 rpm. I have no clue what is going on, it's really odd. This happened once and I changed the injectors because of the growing amount of ethanol in gas, and now only a month later this is happening. Its really weird. I hear autozone will run a code for free so im going to go there tomorrow.

Has anyone else had this problem? Could it be water in the gas or something like that??
