Another tranny question

I posted when I first bought my car about my transmission and I yet again am wondering about it. I will be scheduling an appt. soon for the dealer to check out some things and will have them to look at this also. Just for my personal knowledge I was just curious if the shift points in the transmission can be changed through the ECU. I've heard tell of the tunes that can be done and was just curious if maybe something like this could be done.....its probably a stupid question but I have no idea. If it can....is there a way to tell if the car has had something like this done to it? I will let the dealer sort it out but would like to know this. The problem is that it still shifts like crap. It seems to shift late at around 3,000 rpms and its never a quick shift, its a long drawn out shift which snaps your head when it does. Keeping up with traffic it's nothing for it to shift at 4k rpms just keeping up with the minivans in the other lane. I'm always slowest to get to speed in traffic and people in the car think im ******* the **** out of it to just get up to speed. I also want to point out that its not a power problem....it will fly when pushed. Also when the car is cold the transmission shifts quick and lots earlier and is great. I find this funny because other people say that their cars shift later when cold and mine shifts earlier. I hate it...you just can't drive the car smoothly without jerking peoples heads and sound like your killing it. We have 3 other nissans in our family and the trannys in them are GREAT. It also seems like there is a bit of a slight skip when the car is pulling along in the top gears at a lower rpm. It just now came to me that it may be a plug wire breaking down...I had a firebird that was the same way. Hum....any help you guys can give would be great.
