Transmission and Rear-End fluid change

Planning on changing my fluids when my car reaches 25K. Thinking of Amsoil transmission fluid and probably rear-end fluid. Anyone know how much is needed for our cars and where's the best place online to get it? Thanks.

Get two quarts of the Amsoil 75w90 gear oil and a hand pump. You will use 1.5 quarts for the rear diff.

Make sure you have the 10mm hex bit socket to remove the drain/fill plugs.

Thanks guys. Guess I'm going to do it myself instead of taking it to my mechanic.

Guys, for those of us who don't want to do it ourselves (I live in an apt and sold my jack and jackstands years ago), what's a reasonable price? The $tealership wanted $300!

Also, while I'm asking, for a 6MT, whats the best tranny fluid? I was thinking of going Amsoil but wasn't sure which one to use.

personally, i dont think its worth paying someone more than 80 bucks to do both. its a 15 minute job.

i use redline 75w90 in the diff and mt-90 in the tranny

he has an auto...changing that fluid is a PITA and not recommended for the DIY'er. At least that's how it was for the G20. You could do more damage than good by changing the auto tranny fluid in that car.

If you can change your own oil then you can change your differential and transmission fluid. The types have been listed in this thread and in the thread that I linked in post 2.
