I've heard you may lose a bit of hp but ive also heard it lubricates the gears much better and handles heat better. Is this true or all rubbish?
BUMP for an answer to this question...

Well, a thinker fluid would make something else work harder. I would ALWAYS use what is reccomended because it's probably the best choice. "Protecting" the gears is kind of strange because...well that don't really go bad under normal use. Syncros go bad.

An Infiniti Master Tech recommended it to me this morning. Says he puts it into a lot of G35's and 350z's. He's been working on Nissans/Infinitis for over 20 years so I tend to listen when he recommends something. BG Ultraguard 75w140 synthetic is what he recommends.

Bump it up. What are you guys running in your differentials? Any pro's or con's to the fluid you chose?

I put Castrol Hypoy C Gear Oil (http://www.castrol.com/castrol/secti...tentId=7036192) into mine just recently. Honestly, don't really know any pros or cons. Castrol should be good and I wanted conventional oil.

For transmission I used Nissan MTF.

Im about to do my rear diff in my 04 5AT sport package (came with 18s). I gotta stop and pick up the fluid tonight. I do not believe that it has LSD, but is there a way to tell without getting the rear end up off the ground and spinning the wheels?
