Tranny Oil Cooler for 5AT Sedan

There has been some suggestion that the 5AT could benefit from a tranny oil cooler install as HP output is increased. Since high temps are a big enemy of AT's, an auxilliary cooler sounds like a good idea.

Can anyone recommend a quality tranny oil cooler for the 5AT sedan that they know will fit?

Re: Tranny Oil Cooler for 5AT Sedan

dude just go to JC Whitney or a local company that installs tow packages

Get the biggest one you can fit in there (opposite the oil cooler and ac condenser). Tranny coolers are old news, and proven technology. I am pretty sure the G comes standard with a tranny cooler, so you could just use the lines that it came with and put a bigger one in.

I have done this on many trucks and a couple cars. The hardest part is finding the size that will fit in no problem

You may want to PM DaveO and ask what he is using.

Here's a link to my post from 11/2003:

After 8 months, no leaks, no problems. I really haven't even thought about it since it was installed.
