Well the problem started with 6th gear sort of popping out of place when shifted into, now its gotten worse. Going from 4th to 6th, or 5th to 6th it grinds real quick before engaging 6th. Doesn't matter if I'm going 40mph or 80mph, have the clutch pedal slammed to the ground or only half way down, RPM's above or below 3K it still does it. Normal driving, bat out of hell driving it always does it. I can feel it in the floor and when I pass stuff it reverbs off the cars or walls next to me. What the hells going on? Haven't opened the check plug to look for shavings, I'll let the dealer do that. So now I have a list for the dealer to look at: Drivers seat separated from frame (getting fixed under warranty), window streaks, rear end snapping, and now grinding trans.... This makes me sad...

you'll get the new updated transmission that is much better. no more notchy shifting, etc.

My car will come out of reverse sometimes when its not warmed up for some reason (only does it coming out of my garage every few days). Im not that worried about it since its reverse and i wont be grinding into reverse haha, but its kinda weird. My sister was in the car with me the other day and it did it and she freaked out cause she doesnt know anything about cars and was like OMG howd u do that without touching it?!? related issues or am i just dumb and dont put it all the way in reverse or something?

dont worry I'm sort of pissed about the whole thing. wont get into my disappointments with Infiniti over all these issues cause I always get flamed and told it should be expected as a first production year car, but that's crap! I have printed out all the posts on this board of people with the same problems I have had. Ammo if the dealer gets crappy with me.

1st production years are kinda a crapshoot. My mom got one of the first ml320 (benz SUV) and we could have gotten our money back on lemon laws if we wanted. Benz just ended up fixing everything for free for about 80k miles before we finaly sold it. When we went to sell it and told them what it was they would say (before we ssaid the year) "PLEASE be anything besides a '98". We had a first production year suburban too... errr sorta. '93 they changed the air conditioning and tranny. with 194k miles on it our suburban has gone through probably 15 full air conditioners, 3-4 transmissions, and something else that i cant think of right now that was a problem from the first month we had the car. It obviously wasnt enough for us to get rid of that thing tho cause im still driving it and running [censored] over with that bad boy 4x4. My sister got the first year is300 and the only problem she had was that her brakes were warped at 45k miles and they blamed her for it (she's EXTREMELY easy on her brakes). But besides that... its been a great car. So we've had good/bad experiences with first production years or first year of changes to automobiles and im guessing that infiniti is no different.

Im not justifying the fact that the car has sucked for you because my family will never drive ANY mercedes again (my dad was thinking about an SL500 for a while). My mom hates mercedies, hates their services, and hates the whole company and any dealership because they treated her bad and gave her a lemon. My mom LOVES infiniti and loves her g35x tho and i love my g35 coupe.... so who knows. I guess its just thew ay the world works... sometimes we get screwed ****... and sometimes we end up with some hot blonde taking it vaginal for us.... u just never know with cars. sorry to hear about your misfortune

Yo Raz your the best man lololol.... I love that, anyway that sucks with what's happenin to your car, I would def. be so pissed if that started happening to a brand new car. But hey, first year prod. models are sometime great with no prob's (mine is, except brakes and seat squeeks) and then some are a nightmare. Good luck, Martin
