Does anyone have the NISMO titanium shift **** yet? I just got mine this week (it is VERY bad a$$) but I'm not sure how to install it. I heard you can just use a monkey wrench and twist it off counter-clockwise. It's really hard to do because all NISSANS use super glue when they install the OEM shift ****. Has anyone taken off the original shift **** and installed something else? If so, please let me know how you took it off. I don't want to break my shifter by using too much leverage with the wrench. Any idea would be great.....thanks.

it really on there, so u have to grit your teeth and get on it. Where did u get it from and more importantly How heavy is it?

Yes....this one is built for the COUPE 6MT. I haven't seen one for the AUTO's yet.

 

Are you SURE??? I really do NOT want to break my shifter in my brand new Coupe. There's not even an aftermarket short throw shifter available for me to run out and buy if I break it. Did you take yours off already? What kind of shift **** did you replace it with? I got my NISMO shift **** directly from Japan....it it's pretty heavy for such a little ****. It's made out of titanium, but I think it's weighted inside.

 

Dont worry it comes off. I replaced my 6mt shifter with a sola luna. I think i am going to get a momo in the near future though. Where did you get the Nismo from?

Thanks for your advice. I just installed it today and you're right, it does come off, but damn....it is screwed on there really really tight! The NISMO **** looks very nice though! And it fits on there perfectly. Thanks.....

 

Question about the Nismo Shift ****. Does it have numbers on top? Just in case I have to valet my car (which I hate to do), so the valet dudes can look down at the know, and know where reverse is?

Valets are trouble. The valet last weekend stalled my car out 3 times b/c he kept putting the car in 6th gear. The tire shop i went to the other day kept putting it in 6th when trying to reverse off the ramp, I had to run over there yelling b/c i though he was going to drive off the front of the ramp. Unfortunately I usually don't have a choice b/c valet is the only parking available.

That is exactly the point. I need to know if it show "R" on the **** to help them out. If I can avoid it, I will not valet my car. But there are situations where it can not be avoided.

This is the determining factor wether I get the Nismo **** or not. Weird.

Just get the ****, do whatever makes you happy!

If worse comes to worse, just Type up an instruction manual on how to put the car into REVERSE, and glue it to the front dash whenever you have to Valet the car..... simple solution i think [img]/w3timages/icons/smile.gif[/img]
