Valve Body Upgrades / Shiftkits

Which one is the best to get?

Transgo shift kit is probally the cheapest install at around $700. Others are swaps, what exactly is the differences between them? One hold more power better than the next? I've read the Stillen one isn't all that great, what about the others? I've searched and really haven't found any comparisions between them.

Transgo!! I used to have the stillen VB and it shifted very slow compared to the Transgo which I have now. I can chirp the 1-2 and sometimes the 3-4 shift.

I have videos of me at the track on youtube with the kit. Check out my thread in the drag section Transgo @the track.

Let me ask you a question: When you go on the highway lets say at 50 - 60 mph If you decide to step on the gas (WOT), how you tranny reacts? Do you hear a hard "clunck" when down shift to 3rd?

SGP and GTM use Transgo kit. My car is not FI and this cluck got me concerned because I'm not sure if it's a defect on the installation of the kit or just a quick, solid drop into gear from the VB. For me the the downshifting in D is more harsh that the upshifting.

Thanks man, I appreciate this very much. If it's my car I would have to go back to the shop.

I just had a fully built STAGE 3 GTM tranny put in... and violent is probably the best description for it also... Takes some time to get used to it, but man what a difference.... super quick off the line.

In MM I never down shift lower than 3rd.. the car will still go down into first at a light or second around a corner on its own... but in MM mode if you shift down to second... and I mean even at slow speeds..... .CLUNK.... scared the @#$@ out me at first.

What a relief to hear that it was not only mine that was doing this "clunk" sound when hard downshift.
Still, would be useful to have other input on this.

Is the clunk a sound or is the clunk the actually tranny clunking, shaking and jerking the car hard?

Like the stock auto tranny when you're rolling at like 10 mph and downshift to 1st and it clunks.

^^ I truly hope not!
Anyways I try to avoid downshifting hard in D... just in case. Still the mod is worth every penny.
