Valve Body Upgrades / Shiftkits
Which one is the best to get?
Transgo shift kit is probally the cheapest install at around $700. Others are swaps, what exactly is the differences between them? One hold more power better than the next? I've read the Stillen one isn't all that great, what about the others? I've searched and really haven't found any comparisions between them.

I have videos of me at the track on youtube with the kit. Check out my thread in the drag section Transgo @the track.

Transgo!! I used to have the stillen VB and it shifted very slow compared to the Transgo which I have now. I can chirp the 1-2 and sometimes the 3-4 shift.

^^ If you are FI 5AT you should never floor it in drive. Always flip to MM before going WOT. Torque is what kills the tranny, when you floor it in 5th and it jumps to 3rd you have a HUGE torque spike. The clunk is not good...
No experience with the transgo. Seems to be some followers in here... the Stillen VB can't be compared to other VB's, much like their supercharger. The Stillen VB and SC have been noted over and over again for not being very good (unless you just want a slightly faster, slightly crisper daily driver with no added benefits of spending thousands).
I can chirp 5th if my tires are ****ty? Being able to chirp a gear really isn't a good comparison between VB's.
I have the SGP valvebody, known for being one of the more violent. The thing breaks your neck... The GTM valvebody is also a good one.
I don't really know much about the transgo to give an opinion.. only really know the difference between the VB's.

SGP and GTM use Transgo kit. My car is not FI and this cluck got me concerned because I'm not sure if it's a defect on the installation of the kit or just a quick, solid drop into gear from the VB. For me the the downshifting in D is more harsh that the upshifting.
I rarely floor it in drive i just downshift in MM.

Thanks man, I appreciate this very much. If it's my car I would have to go back to the shop.
Did you check this?
In MM I never down shift lower than 3rd.. the car will still go down into first at a light or second around a corner on its own... but in MM mode if you shift down to second... and I mean even at slow speeds..... .CLUNK.... scared the @#$@ out me at first.

Is the clunk a sound or is the clunk the actually tranny clunking, shaking and jerking the car hard?
Like the stock auto tranny when you're rolling at like 10 mph and downshift to 1st and it clunks.
