Hard to shift cold!

'05 6MT 71K miles. Just did trans fluid change with Redline to no avail. Unknown age of clutch, fluid. Clutch pedal is not sticking like I've read elsewhere. Yes, I just purchased this car!

Problem: When first starting off in the day I can barely shift into second. I mean I have to really pull hard! 4th, 5th and 6th go into gear smooth as silk.
If I am at a stand still (engine running) I can shift through all the gears no problem. When I am moveing it is super hard.
It only happens for the first 5-10 minutes until the motor/trans warms up. After warm up it shifts fine.
No, it's not 10 below here yet either. 50* here today.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Same thing happens to me. I have an '04 6mt and before the car gets warmed up all the way, it is very difficult to get into second and third. After a bit of driving it's fine though. I kinda thought it was normal, but i'm curious as well.

Clutch pivot ball could be starting to wear? I know the stock pivot ball isn't that great.

Took the car to a good transmission guy and he said its the blocker rings not meshing.
Time for a trans rebuild I guess.

I had the same problem.... after I used Redline, Motul, and Royal Purple. They are not the correct weight oils, and that is where the problem lies. I switched back to OEM fluid, and the transmission shifts a lot better then with any aftermarket oil. Try this, and let us know if you have the same results.

Hmmm, Weird! Is the OE oil 75W-90? GL4?
