wasup people's, I have a 05 6mt g35, i think My g is getting to the stage where a new clutch is needed. This is my first clutch change so i am a novice at this. I would really appreaciate any advise or any suggestions on good clutches, what stage clutch , what flywheels, "COSTS" etc so i can make the best choice... thank you

Make sure your ready for clutch noise. Most aftermarket clutches make the "chatter" noise. But I've heard good stuff about JWT clutch and flywheel combo. But how many miles do you have on your car?

Henry, the clutch actually doesn't make any noise and neither does the flywheel itself. The sound that you hear when moving to a single-mass flywheel actually originates in the transmission and it occurs as a result of the elimination of the dampened stock dual-mass flywheel. The sound is called clatter (a.k.a. gear noise or gear rattle) and this doesn't evidence any issue.

If you want to keep this clatter to a minimum then I suggest that you opt for a steel flywheel (like the SN35S offered by SPEC) which has greater mass and thus more dampening than a lighter aluminum flywheel. As a side note, gear noise is most audible at idle with the pedal released and during deceleration and high load (read low RPM/high-gear) acceleration. It really isn't that bad at all. I have an SN35S steel flywheel and a SN353H Stage 2+ clutch in my 2005 G35 Sedan. Let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks!

Mine started slipping around 54k miles and I had it replaced with a JWT clutch/flywheel combo. $1300 all said and done, but I'm much happier with the overall feel compared to stock. Although it doesn't bother me at all, there is a noticeable increase in noise from the lighter flywheel.

yeah, im in need of a new clutch, flywheel, or whatever the issue may be as well. mine when at 33k and now its at 43k. It slips, ALOT when i try to smash from 2nd gear onwards. Such an annoying feeling. I was thinking of just getting an oem replacement, bc i get annoyed of chatter, but I do bump my music loud so maybe it'll cancel the chatter out? haha

I apologize for the delayed response. I was out of the office last week at PRI. Are you asking about the difference in weight for the Steel and Aluminum flywheels?
If so, the Steel flywheel weighs 27.6-lbs and the Aluminum flywheel weighs 14.2-lbs. Let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks!

i am also having trouble deciding a good place to get them done, should go with the dealer, or go to a local transmission shop or a regular mechanic?

SEARCH....
Sorry I'll be that guy, but there's three dam& threads just like this one on the first page alone.
I only say this because for us people who actually do search, repeat threads like this make it a PITA to find good threads to read when lookin for information.
SORRY BRO, don't take it personal!
