Exclamation Sticky Clutch Dealer says clutch is shot at 34.5k miles

Hey guys, here is my story.

I took my car to the dealership after having the clutch pedal stick after driving in traffic on a warm day. ( I took it in once before for the same issue, they said they couldn't replicate it.) I searched and saw that most people with issues had the problem resolved after having the master clutch slave replaced. I also saw there was a tsb on the issue. I just got a call from infiniti service stating that the reason the pedal is sticking is because the clutch is worn. My car only has 34.5k miles, I bought it used with 16.6k miles. The dealer is saying that getting nearly 35k miles is ridiculously awesome and I probably don't need a flywheel because it probably isn't burnt. All because I'm an awesome driver?? 35k miles seems pretty quick to me, my first car has over 70k with no slippage.

Do you think it could just be the slave cylinder and not the clutch itself? Also, doesn't 35k miles seem premature for a new clutch? I didn't notice any slipping, I even checked for it flooring it and watching the rpms. They are quoting me at $2150 for just the clutch and labor. Any advice/help is much appreciated! Btw, the car is a 07 coupe if that helps any.

I heard its the fluid getting contaminated. GL bro. These clutches frikn suck! If ur going to the dealer to replace it then just go aftermarket. With that quote they gave you ur better off upgrading

before you go changing parts, replace your clutch fluid first. This has helped many members with the sticking clutch issue.

I also have this weird clutch issue.... When I start the car and let the clutch out in Neutral I get a noise...
If I shut the car off in Neutral i get a wierd sound like theres rocks in the trans.. If I shut the car off with
the clutch depresessed the sound is gone..

When getting my oil changed at the local Infiniti dealer I had them look at it, I dont even think they looked.
When I picked the car up they said yeah your clutch is burnt and you need to replace it. I said WHAT?

My car shifts and drives perfect. Clutch grabs fine and the car only has 22k miles on it.

My previous car VR6 Jetta ( although tons of little problems ) had 130k miles on the stock clutch and still
grabbed fine but was just replaced due to trans problems.

That problem sounds like throw out bearing or fly wheel chatter

i took my car in at 10,000mi for the same problem and they said it was the clutch pedal .. so they gave me another one.. i took it in at 25,000mi and they said it was the clutch pedal.. so they gave me another one.. i was like .. hey.. if the clutch pedal is causing the clutch to prematurely burn, do i get a new clutch..? they said that it wasn't covered because it was a wear issue.. but i told them that it is wearing prematurely because the clutch pedal is faulty.. they wouldn't budge.. i even went to consumer affairs. then.. it did it again at about 38,000 mi.. i was like.. fack..!! it's not the pedal..!!! so.. they gave me a new transmission.. i took pictures of it in the box and everything.. about 5,000 miles later it did it again..i brought it back and they replaced the slave cylinder... it fixed the problem but then i was stuck with a clutch that had been prematurely burned because of the sticking issue.. they wouldn't replace it.. they should have.. it got really burnt the second time cuz i cruised like 60 miles with the stereo blasted on the frwy only to start smelling the clutch burnt to hell when i got off the frwy... after all that.. my clutch still lasted until about 68,000 miles... i could of gone longer but i had the OC problem.. and since i got my motor replaced i had them throw in a JWT clutch/flywheel combo for 100 bux more.. haven't had the problem with the new set-up...

Next oil change I will ask the dealer to check for oil consumption. **** if its there what do I have to loose. Just did my first oil change ever on the car since I acquired it used and it was done at the dealer.

Wow, 35K. I must really baby my car - I've got 95K on the OE clutch. maybe that's why I can't break into the 13's.

Your stock clutch should last well over 100K miles.... im pushing 134K+ and it still holds fine. Has to be one of the cylinders as other members have already stated.
