Auto Trans Fluid Check

Hello guys.

Yesterday i have decided to change my ATX fluid. I have done as a lot of you statded , as in drain the fluid measure exactly and put what you have taken out. Well after dooing so i figutrred let me check the level. Transmision hot engine running on a level ground. What i have noticed is that the disp stick i showing way over level. Is that possible or i am reading or dooing something wrong. Btw the fluid seems to be reaching first curved area on the stick, way above 2 grooves and above x'd out area. Please Help

The level on the dipstick is directly related to the temperature of the fluid. If you don't know the temp, you won't know the correct level. With a cold engine, let her idle 10 mins and then do a cold reading.

Fluid up to the curved area is like 1/4 -1/5 of a quart high normally. Not that much extra.

Easy way to let out some fluid but not too much is to use the lines that run to the cooler. You can let out just a little or a lot - if you have the engine running it will pump it out fast.
