First gear hard to find.

Well I just finished fixing my clicking axle problem and now something else has shown up. When leaving from a complete stop it is some times hard to shift into first gear. It doesn't grind, its just really hard to find. I'm hoping this is an issue with the linkage somehow? I have yet to take a look at the trans on these things as I just bought this a month ago.

Also, I took out the clutch pedal assembly to clean and lube because it was stiff as hell and the bushings were dried out. It seems to have happened around then, but I don't see how this could affect the shifter going into gear. If I messed up the clutch throw somehow you would imagine it would grind.

Any thoughts?

Maybe you need a new clutch? Mine did that before it failed on me.

Lol this same thing has happened to me just after I fixed the stupid clicking Axle!! I was gonna make a new topic but this pretty much describes my situation. But when going into first like that I feel like Im really forcing it into first. Feels...so not good.

When you switch gears does it also not feel smooth? Sometimes I can go into 2nd through 6th realllly smoothly but most of the time i feel like my transmission is hitting something else before going fully into a gear.

Yea so is something really wrong with our cars ?

Totally forgot about this thread.

I just recently bought the car, haven't had time to change the fluid. I'm waiting til summer when its warm. It happens mainly in first. Very rarely it happens in 3rd.

I would assume this is a mechanical issue as it only happens in a couple gears. doesn't seem to be getting worse, but I don't like it. I think I'll wait til summer than drop the inspection plate and look at the clutch.

Worse case scenario is I drop the trans this summer and send it to a shop to inspect the syncros. Sadly, I think that is the issue.
