My Automatic car :(

hello g35 community!
here is my -- s-o-r-t-a -- rant... well when i first got my car 9 months ago, i was very happy it was auto and no more worries (at least i thought) now not so much, i kinda hate the jolty-ness of autos, and sometimes i wish i would get a MT instead. today i was looking at a 06 350z thats stick, dealer wants 14k and it sits @ 76k miles. i owe about 12k on my car so not sure what i can get for it currently it stands on 52k miles. any advice?

The manual gearbox on my g is one of the least smooth transmissions I've driven. Have you driven the 350z yet?

The 6mt Z is nice. Only thing is that the shifter vibrates when cruising.

First of all, it's an 06 which means it's a REVUP. May have a chance of it having an oil consumption issue meaning you may get a new motor.

Driving a 6MT isn't going to be much smoother. The 6MT is know to be jolty when switching gears until you get used to how the revs drop to catch a smooth transition.

If it were me, I'd skip the 06 and get an 07 up with the HR motor.

But keep in mind, the sedan owners would give you a lot of crap if you got the 350Z/GTR/Ferrari, etc cause it would be a "downgrade" due to it's "lack of doors".

If you can find one, try to find a 6MT sedan. They're out there. You just have to find em.

I'd love to "downgrade" my 93 4-door Lexus GS300 beater to a GTR.

Holy trap speeds.

A stock Auto G35 is about 1 sec slower in the 1/4. More power and less weight.

^Regardless, HR's put out more power than DE's.

The weight of HR Z's is going to vary depending on model. The weight difference isn't THAT much if your comparing a base or enthusiast Z to make up for the power difference between an 03 sedan to an HR Z IMHO.

I know, i know J... for real though, i wasn't at all it impressed by it. i guess i just was expecting too much. don't get me wrong, i would love an HR Z. HR is def the way to go, i just don't think, for me it'd be worth dropping my sedan for one. it'd def be a nice extra ride though.
