Would anyone know why my camshaft sensor would go out all the time(about every 3 months)? Any suggestions are appreciated in advanced.

What’s going on guys ! I’m new here and I know this is a new thread but I’m having a problem with my 05 G35 sedan . It keeps throwing the p0335 code for the crankshaft position sensor but I’ve replaced it with 2 different ones already and it’s still doing the same thing . It idles funky but also , when it hits 5500 rpms it starts sputtering and almost feels like a fuel cutout . Kinda like there’s a rev limiter at 5500. Idk what is going on and only code it keeps throwing is the p0335 . Any help would be great ! Thank you

My guess is you didn't use OEM crank sensors and instead bought an aftermarket one. These engines NEED OEM cam/crank sensors, you can buy them on Amazon for cheaper than the dealership.

hey did you end up finding out what was wrong with your sensor? I’m 3 sensors deep now. 1st replacement gave me the same rpm limit type thing. The second one wouldn’t even start. The third one from the dealer did the same as the first, slightly worse. All sensors are hitachi branded

did you find out what was the issue after replacing the sensor? I’m having the same problem with mine. I went ahead and purchased 2 from the manufacturer already because any other ‘OEM’ sensor I got from Amazon or auto zone wasn’t working. End result of my sensor after a few days of working and code popping back up:

The picture is out of focus, is that a giant scratch on the end of the sensor?

Time to pull the valve cover and find out what's wrong, you have a mechanical failure of SOMETHING. Hopefully it's just a piece of debris stuck on the tone ring at the back of the camshaft that you can easily remove and not an actual DAMAGED tone ring.

So y'all take it easy on me please lol I am a female I've always sat with the guys when working on cars so I know a little bit. Ok ok maybe not but whatever. However I have come to be a little impatient when it comes to needing my car worked on and when you can't depend on people you just gotta do it yourself right? Well my poor g35 has been down for over a month and it's pissing me off. Code reader said camshaft sensor bank 2 well, until this forum I didn't know which was bank 2 so I just replaced them all. But my car is still not good. Hard start, rough idle, stalls, jerks hard when it shifts. My oil is low because I have a leak at the valve cover gaskets. I have the gaskets but they just haven't been replaced yet. I don't trust myself to do that but I also replaced spark plugs and the coils. I ordered camshaft sensors on eBay but they didn't say oem, so does that make them aftermarket if it didn't say oem?
