Its time for 3.5 or 3.6 rear gearing !!!
wasnt there some ancillary switch option discussed in the Z forum (a long while back)... I remember when Osiris first started getting hot there was a lot of talk about base model Z (or whatever ones have no cc) not being able to switch maps... I thought someone had an external switch option... I didnt follow to closely since it didnt relate to me at all.
But yes, that is a considerable concern.

probably quicker to call UpRev - if there is something I'm sure they know about it (unless it was a basic DIY that I'm thinking of... but I'm pretty sure I remember reading they had something)...
I'll be talking with Shawn Church (about other things) pretty soon - I'll ask if he's aware of anything (he's tuned so many Z's I'm sure he's seen it if it exists).

I'm not so sure the inability to activate the cruise control would necessarily prevent you from using their map-swapping functionality.
I mean, swapping maps doesn't really have anything to do with the cruise, it just uses those buttons, right?
Obviously, it's a different story for the Z's that don't have cruise at all, because they wouldn't even have the buttons.

To use their map switching feature you have to rely on how many times CC blinks. Currently, when I press the CC button it just blinks continuously. So no way to determine what map you are on, even if it still worked.

Not to thread hijack, but I found this on Ebay and wondered if anyone has a way to identifying it's specs (3.5 or 3.3, 5AT or 6MT, etc). I searched the part number and found little info. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-O...Q5fAccessories
And, if anyone happens to know if this can be installed in my 03 5AT sedan (without giving me a virtual slap in the face).
thanks,
rob.g

yes, thats diff only not gears... find out if it's for MT or AT... if MT it is VLSD if AT its open and not worth considering... if you are AT, you would need 3.5 or shorter to use MT diff anyway.
You would be better off sourcing entire used pumpkin that includes 3.5 (or 3.7) with VLSD.
19kdrill, are you looking for replacement LSD or shorter gears (or both)?

$300 for the diff, plus how much for the ring&pinion? Wouldn't be long before you could just buy the entire pumpkin.
yep

Thanks for the assistance ya'll.
Depending on your budget, you can get ring & pinion and after market diff and install them in your existing pumpkin (housing)... I got new 3.692fd and Quaife ATB differential a few years ago, good combo (but a little over 2K with install).
