Loud ticking noise, cold engine started after changing oil
Hi guys,
I looked around on the forum for ticking noise from a cold engine, and looks like this is expected (mostly). I hear it after letting my car sit for the weekend and starting it on a not-so-cold (65F) morning. The noise goes away in 10 seconds or so, but is pretty scary when it starts.
This started after I changed oil. I previously ran Castrol Syntec (synthetic) with K&N, and this time around, I changed to 5 quarts of Castrol edge (with titanium) 5w-30 with K&N filter. Looks like the engine doesn't like the new oil. Never had issue until 3 weeks ago. I have had this happen to me twice already now. I thought I'll give a heads-up if people start noticing the ticking noise after the oil change. The engine has 39K miles on it.
I am thinking of going back to the previous Castrol Syntec. Any other suggestions?
