04 6MT Weird noise at 1800-2200 rpm acc and decel

As the title says, I'm getting a weird noise when I accelerate and decelerate between these RPM ranges. It's mostly happening in 3rd gear but also in 2nd sometimes, mostly when I'm traveling at street speeds (20-40). If it's happening in higher gears, I can't hear it. It also only happens when the car is moving. I can rev the engine at a light and not hear anything, which leads me to believe it's a clutch/transmission problem. I first noticed it when I hit my clutch to shift. Shifting itself doesn't cause the noise and being in gear above or below the RPM range makes no noise at all. It's kind of a grinding noise but not like grind gears. It's very subtle, almost gravel like. Anyone have any ideas of what this might be? I've got about 63k mi on the car with an extended warranty. Haven't taken it in yet. Thanks for any info.
