How Long Did It Take To Get Used To Your Clutch?
Im going on close to 3 months now, upshifting is no issue, its the take off im still lacking confidence in. This isn't my first MT car, theres something different that I cant quiet put my finger on. Any pointers? I dont stall out but come very close to bogging out, jerky, or I over rev alot.. figured by now id know this car inside and out. Anyone else have issues when they first got there G's? Ive read the stickies, but that doesnt help me out much, driving an 05 coupe.

The G35 and G37 6MT, have a 'helper' spring in the clutch pedal. This has the net affect of completely numbing the clutch "engagement" feedback that most of us who have driven other manual cars are used to. For almost 2 years I over-reved at takeoff like a newb far too often, and 1st to 2nd was consistently rough. My first car was a manual toyota, and every car since has been manual (240sx, G20t), so it can be frustrating making newb mistakes.
So search around for tips on removing that helper spring, or if you really want to get froggy, check out the RJM AFP clutch pedal replacement. The RJM clutch made me fall in love with my 6MT all over again, I can shift smooth like an auto and launch much more predictably now!

Here's the kit I'm referring to, it replaces the clutch bracket assembly, you just keep the pedal. http://www.rjmperformance.com/350z--...edal-kits.html
There's some review threads on here and over at my350z.com

Honestly I had the same problems when first driving but now im used to it and can shift smoothly with out any jerking around or over revving the thing that helped me out a lot was noticing that i didnt have to push the clutch to the floor to shift its just like an inch or two down a lot less than the pedal allows so when i started doing that it was much better because the engagment is so high when i start i know the let the clutch out some before i try to go from a dead stop. I just sat in my driveway and let the clutch out slowly and noticed when it started to engage remembered the height and how if felt on my foot and now its much easier to drive and although on steep hills i still get a little nervous i havent stalled in a long time.
