Exclamation Driveshaft ujoint

So my ujoint on my front driveshaft of my 2005 g35x went bad and want to replace it myself instead of goint to stealership or buying a used one. Has anyone done this and can tell me what size or type ujoint I'm going to need before I start the overhaul. Local partstore sells them....autozone etc. Any advice will help.

well as far as the dealership goes, you'd not want to go there unless you were getting a new driveshaft, the u-joint is not serviceable and not sold seperate from Nissan

I had a jeep that had constant u-joint issues, they really aren't terrible to replace, especially after some practice. If you can find the part locally you're in good shape, just do some youtube searches to see what you're getting yourself into. If it looks like more work than you're comfortable with take it to a driveshaft / local privately owned shop and let them knock it out for you.

Haven't done any on an Infiniti but as far as I know the basic design of the u-joint hasn't changed much.

I had to replace mine last month b/c the ujoint went bad. But i was under warranty. Common problem for these to go out from what i hear. Your better off getting a after market one.

Single piece carbon fiber? Contact Dustin at www.dynosty.com, total cost about $1.2k and you'll never have to worry about a u-joint again!

Single piece aluminum is also available for less than $600 from a couple sources. CF is quieter though, less vibration/harmonic noise, but also half the price. I think they're doing $550 shipped on a group buy at the moment.
