not to sure on how the whole gear ratio works... need a little education in the subject can anyone help?
^This is from the FSM for the 2006 coupe:

Its simple, taller gearing will allow the car to climb through the RPM range in a shorter distance. I didn't have any major issues with a 3.7, not sure about 3.9 though. Your speedometer will also be inaccurate.

I would to do the same to my g, I checked out you're garage atleset the pic you have of your g. I'm at the moment rebuild a 472 caddy motor from the ground up. What are your times on 1/4 and 8th mile
Not to answer for him but I know for me it was a fear of "getting used to it" too quickly because of the (relatively) slow onset of boost with the sc. SC is the safer option on stock internals- especially for the AT where you're looking at protecting a tranny as well
There is also a rather detailed thread on going to the 3.7 and some of the hurdles. I know a lot of NA / boost guys swap 3.3 for 3.5s so it's very available for a very reasonable price. 3.7 may need a bit more money. I can't remember which section it is but if I find it I'll link to it if you haven't found it already.
Might be this one...
I'd also be taking a very hard look at an aluminum driveshaft- or CFif you have money to burn. Transgo upgrade is a must... I would hit those two items with a 3.5 before I went to a 3.7 but that's just me.
