5AT problem. No 1st or 5th gear

5AT problem. No 1st or 5th gear

Hey guys, looking for some direction here or advise. The other day drove down about 190 miles straight highway, then after got on street roads, when car shifted from 1st to 2nd it was banging into the gear. That last for maybe 10 mins then after i turned the car off and let it sit there for 20 min, SES light came on and when i drove it barely moved. Felt like the car started in 2nd gear only and then never shifted to 5th just stayed in 4th

i ended up pulling 5 codes. 1 was P1815 and the other 4 were P1764. anyone ever had this problem before and knows what it could be?

I had similar problem when i got the car brand new in 2005 when my trans failed at about 1900 miles and now this again.

Is the tranny done or could it be some stuck solenoids?

sounds like the transmission is done..when's the last time the fluid was serviced?

I hope that is not the case. Reason why i think that is that it never gave me any issues or any signs that something was wrong. It literally went from running fine for 4 hrs of driving to broken in a split second.

Last time similar issue happened was at 1900 miles and the dealer said it was a bunch of selenoids that got messed up. I dont know if they changed the oil back then or left it like that. I know when my engine was swapped out, they did put in a new tranny fluid at around 60,000.

Any one know what the complete electronics for 5at run? or if there is a rebuilt units out there

the issue on my 05 was not the actual tranny which what everyone (shops) were telling me. It was my transmission computer that got messed up. 05 has the tcm - transmission control module inside the transmission and its a 1 piece system with the valve body. When the valve body goes bad or if there are solenoids that go bad, the whole thing needs to be replaced as there are no parts offered from the dealer only the whole unit.
we took my oil pan off and took out the computer to see if there was damage in the transmission and there was nothing, Except for dark oil all was good. I ended up getting a transmission from a junk yard with less miles and swaped it out.

The first time same/similar issue happened on the car was at 2,000miles dealer at that time determined it was bad solenoids that were faulty
