What is this sound!??? :@

I have a loud sound coming from the front of my engine.. Its a loud squeak and its driving me insane... I have changed two pulleys and nothing. When i put a little bit of water on the belts/pulleys the noise quiets down...!!??? Here is a video of what the sound is like.. please help ((((

View My Video

ISSUE HAS BEEN FIXED!

A spacer fell off on the Idler pulley on the AC belt and was causing the belt to move back and forth, once the spacer was put back in the sound was gone but there was still a loud squeak (almost like crickets). The squeak was coming from underneath the car. There was a bracket hitting the exhaust pipes. The bracket had lost bolts and was not sitting in place, once it was put back into place and bolted the squeaking went away. The car sounds PERFECT now . Thanks for all the input guys!

Time to take it to a knowledgeable mechanic. Something is failing in the belt track it sounds like.

Which pulleys have you replaced? Are the belts tight? Might be that idler pulley, it's pretty easy to delete it.

Here's a write up on which one you can remove, hopefully it's the one that gone bad. https://g35driver.com/forums/engine-...-mod-pics.html I have a spare oem spacer for PS pump so you don't have to cut anything, then you just need a PS/ALT belt from an 07 coupe (or 08 FX35).

So after spraying some WD-40 (I know I'm not supposed to get it on the belts, I did my best to avoid that) on the top (bigger) Idler pulley, the sound starts going away.. I'm starting to think that the problem is coming from there

Luckily that one is easy to remove. You'll need a spacer for the PS pump (or cut the idler pulley bracket) and a new belt, just ask for one for a 2008 FX35. That pulley came deleted for 2007 coupes, but some parts guys get confused and might give you belts for a 2007 sedan.

Here is how I got rid of the idler pulley from the posting I made when I changed my water pump and timing chain:

Idler Pulley Next to PS Pump - Use a strap wrench wrap it around the pulley, use ratchet on each four screws and it should pull off. Mine was rusted to hell, so I shot a bunch of PB Blaster inside the screw holes and it eventually came off. Since, mine was rusty and didn't sound to good I just decided to do the pulley delete mod while I have everything torn down.

Here are the two part numbers you need:

Spacer for Idle Pulley Delete Mod - 13298-4P10A - $3.02
New Belt - 11720-4P10A

*I'd also keep that pulley somewhere and not throw it out. If you ever need to get in there to change your timing chain or something it helps out a lot in removing the harmonic balancer without air tools or if you can't crank the engine (like me when the timing was off).

I believe it's a 2007 G35 Coupe. I usually just tell the shop or chain store I need an 07 coupe belt and that's what I get.

If you check out Z1Motorsports they have the kit on their site for like 20 bucks with the belt and spacer.

Not sure they're a sponsor or this site. Might want to contact them and ask.

And if I do the Idler pulley delete, will it effect anything negatively? (so I get the big IP removed, replace the belt (serpent belt i believe?) with an 07 coupe belt and it will run fine without any problems?

So what do I exactly tell the mechanic? remove the large IP and put a spacer in it's place then change the belt (serpent belt I believe) with an 07 coupe belt?
