Diff differences

Looking into picking up a new used diff for my drivetrain slack issues and want a 3.7 FD VLSD. According to research I can get one from either a manual 370z or g37, or one from a 07/08 auto g35s.

My question : how does one identify open vs vlsd in the 07/08 g35s? I found several with the right year and ratio but they are all advertised as open. Some have three bolts on the input shaft and some have four. The diff in the picture above is advertised as a 3.7 FD non locking from an 07 sedan, but it seems to have a round flange so is this actually locking?

You're talking about how to tell from only using pictures correct?

Yes, but it turns out the "GD" stamp is what you're looking for to designate the VLSD 3.5 FD rear end. I just picked up a 65k mile 3.69 VLSD from an 08 G35s for a pretty good price.

Curious to see how you like it. I put a 3.5 in my 5AT years ago and I liked it a lot but always wanted to go with the 3.69 just to see the difference, if any, it made.

If it gets rid of the whining, crazy drivetrain slop, and intermittent crazy vibes I can tell you right now I'll be happy!
I'll be sure to update with impressions keeping in mind I'm starting with a functional 3.5 VLSD so expecting the difference to be minimal.
