Any Service Response on Clutch whine/howl noise??

I have had my 05 6MT for 3 weeks now and its starting to make a whining noise when in neutral during deceleration, or while changing gears. I will be taking this in when I also get my back deck rattles checked out.

I also did a search on the noise, but found no results of taking it to the dealer.

I called and have an appointment for next monday.

If anyone can add anything to this, please help me out.

btw, this has nothing to do with the "chatter" noise. It's a whining or whaling of some sort.

thanks

Good description of your problem.
Please be sure to post the service department's replies and actions when you get everything sorted out.

I called the service dept and they said it is likely the throwout bearing and want to take a listen so that they can make sure.

I feel better now heh.

I will keep you updated

This has been known for the longest time...I'm surprised you've never seen anyone else talk about it as I have seen lots on this forum. I experienced it to on my car and it was ever present when my car was reall BRAND new....its starting to die off, but is present mainly when the car is driven for a few minutes after a fresh start up...I wouldn't worry as I know lots of people on this forum have brought it up. Its one of those "chatter" type problems we gotta live with...but yea keep us posted, I'm curious as what they will say.

I have read thread after thread relating to this issue. The one question that has not been answed on any thread is what the problem actually is. I have read that many people have the problem fixed by the tranny getting replaced, but why? Is it easier to just replace the tranny and call it a day? I want to know if this noise is actually a problem for my car or not. If anyone has some solid details, please let me know....

i have also heard about this, and my 07 g coupe does the same thing, try sitting still with it in neutral, clutch pushed in, does it start having a faint grinding sound when you let the clutch out? thats what mine does

I don't have any grinding issues, only the whining noise on cold start up. Although I did have the noise on a hot summer day after I had changed the tranny fluid. I just want to know the cause.....
