Need Aftermarket Clutch Advice ASAP....
Need Aftermarket Clutch Advice ASAP....
I am trying to look for feedback on aftermarket clutch n flywheel combos. My 18K G will be getting a new tranny at the end of this week so I need to move quick. I refuse to put the stock POS clutch back in. This is the second one as it is, and yes I know how to drive stick.
I am looking for something very streetable. I don't mind a lil chatter because I have been living with it for all 18K except the first 3 and the 3 after the first swap at 11K. My main goal is to get something that will last, be streetable, and any additional power it can put to the ground would be nice!
Any recos? I know a few of you have done and enjoyed the JWT setup, some have Tilton which I think may be a lil more then I need. I am not FI so I see no need for a 6 puck setup.
Anything else out there?
Please provide...
Brand Flywheel & Clutch
Where Purchased
Cost
Durability - Mileage on clutch and update
Would you do it again?
Thanks!

I've read a lot on the subject of clutches and flywheels.
From RPS to Jun to Tilton to JWT to Nismo to UR to ACT to ATS... I think JWT sounds like the best deal for those of us under 500rwtq. If you get a light weight flywheel at the same time consider the bearings that can be swapped at the same time. I believe it's the throw out bearing and one other one as well. Name escapes me right now...

Is that the second bearing you meant... or am I 180 degrees out...
Thanks for the info guys! I think I am going to go with what was reco'd by a great performance shop in NJ. They reco'd the JWT flywheel and the ACT clutch. From my understanding Fidanza makes the flywheels for JWT and a few OEM ones too.
Changing the throw out bearings etc is a no brainer. I have no idea why peeps would skimp on those parts since tehy are so cheap and they don't really require any additional work.
Thanks Again!

Not too concerned with chatter since i have it had it with my stock setup. I ended up goin with the JWT package since the flywheels is made by fidanza and the clutch is maded by ACT. It's the heavy duty street clutch, not the 6 puck. 6 Puck is way more then I need........unfortunately : (

Thanks Adam for hooking me up with MRC in NJ. I dealt with Jason and found they offered a great deal of service and shared a tremendous wealth of knowledge with me! I may have paid a little more for the setup, but it's well worth it for knowledge and service!
Thanks Again! Hopefully, MRC will be seeing alot more of me!....and my bank account!

Any chance ACT sells the same p/n of the JWT clutch under a different ACT p/n for a lower price? If so, I'd love to have the p/n since I'll be getting a new clutch and FW very soon. From all of my reading the JWT clutch and FW seem to be exactly what I'm looking for.
TIA
Honestly, I am not sure what the part numbers are. It is weird that ACT and Fidanza makes the parts for JWT, but JWT is slightly cheaper. I'm sure with a little searching, we can find it. My invoice does not have the part # on it, but I will try to find it tonight.
Can you give me the contact information for MRC in NJ. I am from NJ and am looking for the best shop for performance modifications. Where are they located?
