IMO, don't waste your time or money. The alum. driveshaft on the G is only 6" longer and most likely only weighs 2-3lbs more. Years ago when I had my Z28, I had the stock steel driveshaft swapped out for a lighter alum shaft because the steel one had balance problems. The alum shaft weighed 6lbs less, but I never saw any improvement on the track or during driving. If you want to make a noticable difference in terms of handling, braking, ride, and acceleration, take your $1500 and buy some nice lightweight rims.

BTW, there's nothing terribly exotic about using CF for driveshafts. GM has been using CF driveshafts on their trucks since the early 1990s.

don't think our driveshafts are fabricated from aluminum. when my clutch was swapped out, i had a sneak peek at the 03 g's driveshaft. it is ridiculously heavy and i believe it's constructed of steel.
