Which Flywheel Should I Use? Need help bad!!

Been having problems shifting and the dealer told me I need a new tranny(bad syncros). Upon opening the tranny they told me I have "hot spots" on my flywheel which of course is not under warranty. The clutch and flywheel were replaced about 3000 miles ago when I bought the car. Now since i'm getting a new tranny I should have the clutch and flywheel replaced but in that short amount of miles is it possible to get "hot spots"? Especially since i have been trying to take it easy on the new clutch. I've been driving slower than my grandma. So instead of paying $950.00 for an OEM Flywheel that is heavier, I am going to get either a Nismo $550 or Jim Wolf Technology $400.
Has anybody experienced these problems or have any suggestions as to which flywheel would be better. These "hot spots" sound like a scam.
Could a bad tranny cause the "hot spots"? Help Please!!!!!
