Clutch sensor for ignition
Does anyone know where the sensor is in the clutch assembly that must be engaged prior to turning on the car?
In my car the clutch engagement point is easily 4+ inches from the floor.
I attempted to build a makeshift clutch stop so that I could limit how far I must depress the clutch to engage/disengage.
A clutch stop anymore than 1" off the floor makes it so the car wont start. In your car, you can push in the clutch and hear button click sensor (similar to those spring loaded sensors for car alarms on hood engagement) when the clutch gets to about 1" from the floor.
If I could permanently engage this sensor, or short the sensor, I believe I could achieve the goal of limiting clutch travel to only what is required.
I do realize that some of you are lucky enough to have engagement points just off the floor, but I am not so lucky.
If someone has a service manual, could you take a look at the clutch assembly and let me know. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you

What year? I modified the engagement point for a friend of mine and his had a switch at the low point of travel, I'm assuming for that purpose. He had the aftermarket nismo clutch as well as an aftermarket nav system so it may have been installed by one of those installers.
Hi superman
I am not sure how to solve your problem, but I think I have engine start or ignition problem. Becasue at random times I can't start my engine as I wish to start right away. Have you experinece the problem that I am experiencing right now? I took it to my dealer and they told me they couldn't duplicate the problem therefore nothing could be done to fix the problem.

no, i found the switch. it is on a threaded bolt. I simply threaded it as far as it would go to give me an additional 1/2" of travel. Then installed my makeshift clutch stop to limit travel of the clutch. Now, my engagement point is about 1/2-1" from the end of travel. I love it.
