Smile New Tranny!!!

Well after 3 times of going to the dealer and complaining about my 5th gear grind that g35's are infamous for i finally got the manager and A Tech to drive my car... they felt the grind and finally admitted that the 5-6 synchro is going and they need to change the transmission...im a tech myself what did they think i was lying the whole time...theres no TSB but they have seen the problem before...so in about a week ill have a new transmission which is great lol....saves me time especially since i diag. the car for them the first time i went to them...envy me you other grinders lol jk...hey atleast we dont have that subframe recalls that altimas have and i think maximas are going to have soon enough...lol

Heh, I went and complained ONCE to the Infiniti of Tacoma about my Tranny grinding into 5th and being noisy, the Tech drove it and couldn't feel the grind... but he still wrote it down, anyways they ended up doing all of the following:

New Tranny, Clutch, Flywheel (ALL UNDER WARRANTY!!!)
Rearview Mirror Rattle (fixed)
Rear Parsel Shelf Rattle (Fixed)
Rear Right Pillar Rattle (fixed)
Rear Left PIllar Rattle (fixed)
Grease Marks on window TSB
and my rear seats wouldn't fold forward...!

I LOVE INFINITI OF TACOMA IN WA!!! They said they had a hard time convincing the regional tech that I need a new flywheel but they managed to do it!! new clutch and flywheel and tranny! I love how it now feels!!

hey DJM Autoworks, did they say that they are going to give you a brand new tranny or one of those factory rebuilt tranny's? I have been feeling a grind when i put it in both 3rd and 5th, and i dont know what it might be but lately i've been getting a lot of feed back...what do you think...time for a new tranny?

I havent seen or felt a problem with 3rd but hey take it to the dealer and have them chack it out...i knoe i had a problem the onl way i could tell is if i drove your vehicle but if its grinding and your not and newbee at driving stick cars then theres most likely a problem...the one good thing about our tranny's is you can feel the gears and know where your going it gives alot of feed back which i think is good but alot of people want smooth shifting wit little feedback...drive our cars then go drive like a s2k or a new civic SI.. you can barely feel the gears which i think is crappy for a sports car...

LoL no your not the only one....if you search "grinding", "chattering" or transmission you will find plnty of threads or posts about this problem... if the dealer wasnt going to listen to me or change the trans i was going to show them all the threads and compalints on here and also call infiniti....
