Battery Question
Battery Question
I have an 03 Coupe 6MT and my batter is shot.
I have the car at Infiniti now and they say that they will prorate the battery and replace it. All I would have to pay is 55 dollars.
My question was, is it worth it to re-purchase a battery from Infiniti? Should I get a lightweight one or a better one? If so, which battery's should I get.
Let me know what you guys have, cost, etc.
Thanks!

Get the Optima. Think mine was red. Its a sealed battery and ranks very high among the battery world. My stock battery leaked and kind of exploded.....that pissed me off a little.

So far...2 years, no problems and everything is okay.

I've placed an Optima in my past 4 vehicles and never did have to replace one after that. I'm pretty well hooked, for convenience more than anything.
My wife's old Honda minivan had so many electric accessories that we simply couldn't keep the battery charged with only city driving. I put an Optima in that one and never had a low-charge issue again (had 4 with the OEM Honda battery).
I have yet to buy a different battery than the Optima in years and I have no plans to change that. The G will get one when the OEM battery fails.

I prefer the Red one, since it is easier to charge then the yello deep cycle one. If you plan to run your audio system a lot without the car being on, get the yellow top, otherwise Red is the way to go. Also, watch out with the reverse terminal post on the Optima batteries. You will have to extend the pos and neg cables.
