Engine cover question - please help

Can someone please tell me if there is supposed to be a cover over the brake cylinders / power steering / etc on the driver side upper corner of the engine bay (opposite to the battery cover)?

I have a 2003.5 6MT coupe and I would have sworn I had matching plastic covers on each side. I got the car back from service and there's no cover. They said there just isn't one. I'd like to believe them, but I've been under the hood many times and can't believe I never noticed that...

Thanks

You can add one to the driver's side. It's the JDM battery cover like the one on your passenger's side. The car did not come with one from the factory. If you had one, and now it's gone after service, the mechanics either declined to put it back, or didn't realize it had been there in the first place.

Yes the cover on the right is the jdm right side battery cover. You can get one from Chad at infinitispecalists for ~$40-50 (I think). I have it with the UTR CF intake tube and battery covers that are in the pic. I had the engine cover until I got my SC. Now I am trying to cut it to fit.

I had the same question when I got my car back from the shop.

But the dealer brought up a point that you don't want to cover up the master cylinder because it needs to dissapate heat. How true is this because it didn't have a cover in the first place and I've never seen it covered in any other car.

i don't know how true this is, but looking at it, it seems like it would seal against the hood anyway, so how much worse could the plastic make it?

The dealer's is full of BS. The 350Z comes with covers on both sides, but not the "G". If you want a cover, your only answer is the JDM battery cover. It did not come from the factory with one.

ya, i've seen enough pics of g engine bays now to be 100% sold that i never had one.

it just blows me away how odd it looks when you pop the hood and see one side covered, and the other, which is shaped exactly the same, not covered. it looks like it's missing

i guess the jdm cover is the next thing on my wish list

i had the jdm cover on for awhile, then I decided to get rid of it. looked kinda funny to me seeing "battery" on both sides of the car. that's just me though.....

Combining 'lowrider' and 'spdzone' posts does this mean one could order the cover used for Z and not have to worry about 2 'battery covers' under the hood?
Maybe the Z cover won't fit.. or costs $500.
