Upcoming Japanese Products
Upcoming Japanese Products
Ok...i search takakaira.com once a week to see what they got for the V35/Z33 engines. There are some stuff that are coming out.
- ARC has the Induction Box for the Z33. This should fit fine.
- 5 Zigen has this Brake Cooling System but dont know if it will benefit me and how hard it is to install. I plan to track the car sometime in the future and this should help. This is what it states on the site, "5 Zigen's Brake Cooling System guides cool outside air to cool the brake rotor & brake caliper to ensure optimum braking performance & eliminates brake fade, especially during circuit driving."
- Apexi is coming out with the Power Filter for the Z33. It should fit in ours.
- Tomei has these cams for the Z33 but dont know the comparison between it and the Nismo cams. This is out already.
- JIC has this new y-pipe for the Z33. Looks similar to the Top Secret one but like $330 or something.
- Blitz has this NUR Spec Touring exhaust but we would need the pipe extention since our wheelbase if longer.
Once the ARC induction box is out, I might pick one up because of the "cool factor". Hahaha. I think I have to get the Technosquare ECU so it doesnt re-learn itself.
Anyone know any other products coming up performance wise?

Re: Upcoming Japanese Products
Performance-wise, GReddy and Top Secret are both supposedly finishing up their turbo kits...Top Secret is rumored to be going single turbo, unlike GReddy and Power Enterprise...Rumor also has it that GReddy and Top Secret are sitting back to watch PE's success or failure with their twin turbo kit sales...
Moton's Club Sport suspension should be released soon...Waiting on an email from them...
VeilSide might release a Version 2 and Version 3 body kit if sales pick up...Not sure what they look like, but the 350Z has V1, V2, and V3, and all three are ugly...

cool thanks for the info. I really hope that top secret makes a turbo. i also hope they dont go souly on the PE kit sales cuz that thing is not going to sell at the price they are wanting
Re: Upcoming Japanese Products
I don't think that any company manufacturing highend turbo kits plans on selling too many...It isn't just price, it's cost to the company, projected sales versus actual sales, and profit margin...Most of these companies make several cheaper components for the Honda crowd, and seem to charge much more for Nissan and Toyota parts...Just an observation...I'm going with the PE kit simply because they are a reputable company and the development and inclusion of a fuel system upgrade impresses me a little more than GReddy's components...PE, Greddy, and Top Secret know they aren't going to sell a ton of these, but they'll sell enough...

yeah i agree with you on the sales. But i cant justify spending 8 grand all in one big bang on my car. At least no know. Once i see the greedy kit and the Top secret one then i will make my desistion. But turbos are deffently the way to go. Do u have any info on the topsecret one i knew they were making one but i thought they scraped the project a long time ago. I would deffently get a top secret kit they make the best stuff.
Re: Upcoming Japanese Products
Info is sketchy on the Top Secret kit...According to my sources they're still developing something for the VQ35DE, but apparently they are going with a single turbo set-up...If anyone knows their way around a Nissan motor it's Top Secret...In my opinion they're probably waiting and will sit back and watch the GReddy and PE kits for the demand, then release theirs and possibly bring out a twin set-up...But like their name implies they always just kind of seem to release a product out of nowhere...Hopefully they haven't decided to stick with their S14, S15, and GT-R equipment and are backing off the VQ35DE development as far as giving up rather than backing off to observe the market...My real guess is that Top Secret is deciding what components to release with the kit, seeming as how PE has outdone GReddy's projected release by including new injectors, an intercooler, a regulator, and new fuel pump, not to mention a higher capacity oil pan...I think TS is going to watch these two companies and see what sells, then decide how to compete with price and what components are included in their kit...I also expect a pretty high price tag by TS, but with more and better components to justify the higher price...This is just an opinion based on the industry, the company reputations and habits, and some inside info and opinions that I've been able to obtain...

Ya, I also heard of the turbo kits coming out there but I didnt include them because everyone knew about it and I wanted to show you guys something new. But im a bit hesitant on installing the turbo kit for out G35 since our compression is 10.3:1. I was running a Greddy turbo kit on my '99 Prelude and it ran strong but at 10.0:1 compression I ran it down pretty good. I mean lost compression on 4 cylinders but they are still in tolerance and was idling fine. I havent done a compression test when I took off the turbo but I can say that I wasnt feeling the VTEC kick in as hard as it use to. I will probably get turbo installed (if im daring enough) in a couple years when I heard responses that it's reliable with our stock internals and that the tranny can hold. Until then, im going N/A for now.
I didnt know that Top Secret is prototyping a singe turbo kit. I heard that Peter Farrell is going that route as well on our cars. This should be good. That TT setup seems a bit tight. But it's too early in the game to see which manufacturers will come out with a reliable product. Several manufacturers come out with diffrerent versions improving their previous kits....well, at least thats what I remember since I was a Honda freak. It also come down to the prices as well. Usually, "you get what you pay for" is the old saying. This will probably hold true here as well.
