Oil Change

Exclamation Oil Change

i just got an oil change about ..4 hours ago lol and the dude poured in 5 quarts...i heard it was only supposed to be 4 1/2 but i didnt pay attention till i realized he threw all 5 empty bottles out .
i just wanna kno if im headed toward any kind of trouble. my friend said to check the level on the dipstick tommrw morning to see if its between the max and min mark. get at me with any info. thanks

I think you are supposed to put 5-quarts in the car.!!!
Just check the manual.All i know is that the book says 5w30

i dnt think u have to wory about too much oil, just too little oil.

yes a little more oil cant hurt... a little less oil can

Depends on what you call 'a little more' Too much oil can hurt your engine. Linky
That being said, coupes take 5 quarts with filter change. I assume sedans take the same, but I don't know.

its 5 quarts with the filter change for both, the engines are all the same

Service manual states 4.7 but 5 is fine.

I think it is 5qts with a filter change. I have the JWT spacer which adds 1qt and I use 6qts every time.

yes.. a little more oil likely won't hurt- but too much oil can bend your rods!

so its a good idea to pay attention to that stuff.

i won't agree with that. too much oil is also bad for the engine, too much pressure and it has nowhere to escape, seals might be broken and it ll start leaking. i try keeping it 75% of the rod scale
